Checker was first used at Boksburg municipality to alert power failure via SMS.
Xlab-Engineering became PicC Electronics cc, registered in 2003.
Products are designed, manufactured, and supported in South Africa.
An estimate of over 500 customized SMS Alert product solutions have been produced.
As of 2023, clients have confirmed working SMS Alert products installed more than 2 decades ago.
